Screen Printing Process

Screen printing is a printing technique that involves using a mesh screen to transfer ink onto a substrate (usually fabric). The process involves creating a stencil of the design on the screen and then using a squeegee to force ink through the open areas of the stencil and onto the fabric and then it has to pass through a heating process. Each color in the design requires a separate screen so if the design has 5 colors we would have to make 5 screens with each stencil but we charge per screen. Screen printing also produces prints that are long lasting and can withstand multiple washes. Here in ADC Athletics we charge an amount of $30 per screen, but this is only a one time fee, after the first order we will only charge you for the service and apparel if we provide it for your company.

  • Cost-effective: Screen printing is a cost-effective printing method, especially for large orders.
  • Durable: Screen printing produces a long-lasting print that can withstand multiple washings without fading or peeling for a long time.
  • Opaque: Screen printing produces an opaque print that is visible on both light and dark fabrics.
  • Versatile: Screen printing can be used on a variety of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, and blends.
  • High-quality: Screen printing produces a high-quality print with crisp lines and vibrant colors.
  • Limited colors: Screen printing is limited to a certain number of colors per design, which can limit the complexity of the design as well as not being able to use gradient colors.
  • Not suitable for small orders: Screen printing is not cost-effective for small orders, as the setup costs can be high.
  • Heavy feel: Screen printing can create a heavy or stiff feel on the fabric, especially for designs with multiple colors.
  • Not ideal for detailed designs: Screen printing is not ideal for printing intricate or detailed designs, as the lines can become blurry or distorted.

Screen Printing can be used to print on a wide variety of apparel, including T-shirts, Sweatshirts, Hoodies, Jackets, Tank tops, and more. You can even customize tote bags, hats, and bandanas. Ask us if you have any questions regarding your apparel material to see if it can be used for screen printing.

  1. To place an order contact us by email or phone number and send us your name, style of apparel you’d like if you have it, quantities and sizes, and the logos needed in PDF format or Ai. (if not available we can vectorize it with just a normal jpg. picture or png but this will cost about $50)
  2. If you don’t have a design or the vector in PDF don’t worry you are in good hands and we prefer to make our own designs! Simply send us your ideas, logos and colors you’d like and we’ll put it all together for you in a mockup. The Vector will cost about $50 dollars in which each client can make up to 3 changes free of charge to make sure that you get what you are asking for but after the 3 changes, the price will go up.
  3. After the Design is complete we will start making the screens that we will need for your design, for that we will ask for locations (left chest, right chest, back, front), we will also ask if you have a preferred size for each location if not we would be using the standard sizing, lastly we will start choosing the colors of the inks that we’ll need, but before starting the order we will send some pictures of the inks and wait for approval.
  4. When you approve the inks and sizes we will then start working on your order and our turn-around time for screen printing is 7 to 16 business days depending on the orders that are ahead.
